Xiaomi Pro 2 Electric Scooter Review
We figured it was about time to have a look at a firm favourite here at Electra-Zoom so read more about our Xiaomi Pro 2 Electric Scooter Review and why we love it so much.
The Pro 2 Electric Scooter is, as the name suggests, the second incarnation of the Xiaomi Pro model and it was released to us in August 2020. Since then it’s been flying out of our business unit and when you ride one it’s easy to understand why.
The original Pro model was pretty good so there were only a few small issues to address to make the Xiaomi Pro 2 Electric Scooter the ideal commuter scooter.
The Xiaomi Pro 2 has the same amount of power as the original model so it still has enough grunt to power its way up those hillier areas, unlike many of its lower powered competitors that slow to a crawl or even a halt as soon as it hits an incline.
Xiaomi Pro 2 Improvements
One of the improvements that have been made is to increase the power of the front headlight. Xiaomi has upgraded it from a 1W to a 2W brightness which allows to you to see that little bit better at night.
Xiaomi has also improved the KERS system (Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems) which puts power back into the battery when the scooter is braking. This is claimed to make the Pro 2 more efficient, delivering more power for slightly longer than its predecessor.
Another key improvement with the Xiaomi Pro 2 Electric Scooter is the tyres. The tyres on the original Pro were pretty good in the first place however, the Pro 2 features tyres that are up to three times more resistant to punctures and skidding.
The reflective stickers on the Pro 2 have been improved to provide even more reflective power, meaning that there’s less chance of you not being seen in the dark by motorists or pedestrians.
The Pro 2 still maintains its 15.5 mph top speed and fantastic build quality throughout. It also still features the detailed display and connection to the Mi Home App, which connects by Bluetooth and where you can access a huge array of information and options. You can choose such features like whether you view your speed and distance in mph or kmh. You can also set the cruise control or whether the light flashes under braking or whether it is always on.
When using the app, the Pro 2 features a ‘lock’ mode which introduces a rolling resistance along with flashing lights and beeping to act as a small deterrent to potential thieves from stealing your beloved scooter.
Xiaomi are still the industry standard for electric scooters and will continue to be for a long to come. So all in all we love the Xiaomi Pro 2 Electric Scooter as much as we loved the original version and we will continue to use ours on a daily basis.
